Shriners Children’s Portland is also seeking support for two endowed positions/programs of high importance to our future
Endowed Chair – Chief of Staff - $3,000,000
Endowed chairs are proven catalysts for transformation and achievement. They elevate a hospital’s stature and inspire those who work there to strive for more.
As the leading pediatric orthopedic hospital in the Pacific Northwest, our goal is to expand our care to even more children. In order to achieve our vision, Shriners Children’s Portland is seeking a $3 million endowment to establish an Endowed Chair for the Chief of Staff. When funded, the Endowed Chair will allow the chief of staff to have additional resources to focus on new models of clinical care, value-based payment models and other transformation required in healthcare reform.
This investment can be paid over five years. The donor’s name(s) will be associated with the endowed chair in perpetuity.
Endowed Fellowship Program $2,000,000
A fellowship is the period of medical training in the United States that a physician may undertake after completing a specialty-training program (residency). This training is for doctors who wish to become master practitioners within a niche area of medicine. A generation ago, Medicare funded fellowships. That is no longer the case. Currently, the cost of providing one fellowship to Shriners Children's Portland for one year is $100,000. Shriners Children’s Portland is pursuing a $2 million donation to establish a named Endowed Fellowship and support the ongoing costs of this program. This gift may be payable over five years. The donor’s name(s) will be associated with the Fellowship in perpetuity.
