Tony Lewgood joined Shriners Children's Lexington as administrator in 1993. A native of southwestern Pennsylvania, Tony attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in medical technology. While working as a medical technologist at West Virginia University Medical Center, he also attended classes at the University and received his Master of Business Administration degree from West Virginia University.
In 1983, Tony began his career in healthcare administration with Humana Inc. as an administrative specialist at Humana Women’s Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Successive promotions over a 10-year period at Humana Hospitals in Richlands, Virginia; Virginia Beach, Virginia; Louisville, Kentucky; and Lexington, Kentucky, led Tony to his current position as administrator of Shriners Children's Lexington.
Tony is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Noble at Oleika Shriners in Lexington, Kentucky.
Tony’s hobbies and interests include fly fishing, traveling and outdoor activities. Tony is a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and an avid University of Kentucky sports fan.
