Dennis III, Shriners Children’s Patient: My name is Dennis and I'm a patient at Shriner's Children's Hospital. I was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and they said I wouldn't walk or talk or do anything but God proved them all wrong.

Dennis Jr., Dennis III’s Dad: We did genetic testing and they said your kid has cerebral palsy. As a dad it hit you hard. When we got the diagnosis, they said that he'll never walk, talk, feed himself. We came to Shriners. We walked into that door. It was a different atmosphere.

Dennis III: I remember I took one step, then I took two steps, three, four, five steps. I am proud of myself. Because of Shriner's Children's, I can take 14 steps.

Maria, Dennis III’s Mom: When you look at him, the only thing you see is him. You don't see the diagnosis. It means the world to me. He's my baby boy.

Dennis Jr.: Dennis is an amazing kid. He's come a long way and he still has a lot of journey to go.

Speaker 4: What do you love about coming to Shriners?

Dennis III: There's a playground out there and gym that you can play basketball on. I tried a dribble and this time I got it right. I did this. I want to be able to step 100 steps.

Dennis Jr.: Shriners is an amazing place to be at. All your worries are set aside and you could focus on one thing and that's your kid.
