Robert H. Cho, M.D., FAAOS, FAOA, is the chief of staff and a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Shriners Children's Southern California. Dr. Cho is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. His areas of special interest include scoliosis, spinal deformity surgery, limb deformity and pediatric orthopedic trauma.

Dr. Cho earned an undergraduate degree with honors in chemistry from Cornell University and a medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, where he was a medical scholar and recipient of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery Award. Dr. Cho completed his residency and served as chief administrative resident in orthopedic surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine. His fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery and scoliosis was completed at the University of California San Diego College of Medicine and Rady Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Cho is on the board of directors for the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America. He is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, AO Spine, Scoliosis Research Society and Korean American Spine Society.

When Dr. Cho is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their two daughters.

Janet Amirkhanian, RN, MSN, PHN, is the director of patient care services/nurse executive at Shriners Children’s Southern California. She is an experienced health care leader with over 22 years of nursing experience. She approaches leadership with a focus on the “team approach” while helping to develop staff members in a way that maximizes their individual strengths. Amirkhanian takes great pride in striving to build a culture of excellence, teamwork, patient safety and employee satisfaction; all while maintaining a family-focused environment for the patients and families she serves.

From her early exposure to nursing as an oncology staff nurse, Amirkhanian continued her nursing education. She earned a Master of Science in nursing from California State University Long Beach and is currently pursuing a Nursing Doctorate degree at Duquesne University. Prior to joining the team at Shriners Children’s Southern California, she was the director of the John Wayne Cancer Clinics at Providence Saint John’s Health Center.

When Amirkhanian is not working, she loves spending time with her husband and their three children.
