Bruce Wintman, M.D., is an orthopedic hand surgeon who has cared for children and adults for over 28 years. He has provided exceptional service and dedication to all his patients in his long association with Shriners Children’s New England.
Dr. Wintman’s journey began with high honors in molecular biology and biochemistry at Wesleyan University, followed by his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He then completed his Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program followed by a hand and upper extremity fellowship with extensive training at renowned institutions including Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital. His clinical interests include congenital, traumatic and neuromuscular conditions of the hand and upper extremity.
Over the past 25 years, Dr. Wintman has served as a clinical assistant professor at Boston University School of Medicine, and held adjunct faculty roles at University of Massachusetts Medical School and Tufts University School of Medicine, sharing his knowledge through teaching and lectures. Dr. Wintman has authored a number of papers on a variety of hand surgery topics in peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Wintman was recently acknowledged for his 25 years of service to Shriners Children’s, noting his leadership and unwavering commitment to improving children’s lives. He is proud to be a part of the exceptional and collaborative staff at Shriners Children’s New England, always striving to provide the highest level of care, treatment and support for patients and their families.
