Veronica Stanton, DNP, has been a nurse practitioner at Shriners Children’s New England since 2025. She is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner specializing in pediatric orthopedics. Veronica earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she graduated with honors. She brings extensive experience across pediatric specialties, including orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, pulmonary medicine and infectious disease.
Prior to joining the team at Shriners Children’s New England, Veronica served as a pediatric nurse practitioner at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. She provided comprehensive care for children and adolescents, managing acute and chronic conditions and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams. Veronica’s clinical background also includes roles in pediatric primary care, school health nursing and neonatal intensive care.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Veronica has contributed to academic research as a project administrator for an NIH-funded study on brain vascular malformations, supporting protocol development and grant writing. She is passionate about patient and family education, preventive care and improving health outcomes for children. Veronica’s volunteer work with the Sturge-Weber Foundation reflects her commitment to advancing pediatric health through research and community engagement.
In her free time, Veronica enjoys spending time outdoors, fly fishing and golfing with her husband, John.
