Adria Johnson, M.D., grew up in Fargo, North Dakota, and earned her undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. She completed a general surgery residency in Portland, Maine, at Maine Medical Center, where she was inspired to further subspecialize in burn surgery and surgical critical care. She then completed a burn and surgical critical care fellowship in Galveston, Texas, at the University of Texas Medical Branch and Shriners Children's Texas. In fellowship, Dr. Johnson obtained additional training in managing adult burn patients at the Blocker Burn Unit and significantly expanded her breadth of experience in the care of pediatric burn survivors at Shriners Children's Texas. It was this emphasis on multidisciplinary, surgical and compassionate care for burn patients of all ages that brought her to the South Carolina Burn Center in 2024.
