Elizabeth “Libby” Bizier, M.D., MS, BA, is a board-certified pediatric orthopedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of children with limb deformities, gait abnormalities and movement disorders. She has been on the surgical staff at Shriners Children’s New England since 2024.
Dr. Bizier graduated from the University of Maine before serving in the United States Air Force, flying jets and completing over 50 missions during Operation Desert Storm. After her distinguished military service, Dr. Bizier earned her medical degree at Indiana University’s School of Medicine. Dr. Bizier completed her orthopedic surgery internship and residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, as well as fellowships at Brown University and Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia.
During her residency, Dr. Bizier completed an orthopedic surgery rotation at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center and eventually joined the staff there before working at Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare in Minnesota.
She also served as medical director of the Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota trauma program. After retiring, Dr. Bizier worked at Shriners Children’s Twin Cities in Minnesota prior to joining the Shriners Children’s New England team.
Dr. Bizier travels every year to Guatemala on a mission trip to treat children with orthopedic needs. She is also passionate about serving children with congenital and neurological conditions, particularly those with Down syndrome, spina bifida and cerebral palsy. Dr. Bizier plays an integral role in the Shriners Children’s New England motion analysis center, assessing gait abnormalities in children and recommending treatment options in collaboration with rehabilitation therapy and pediatric orthotic and prosthetic services.
