Shriners Children’s Southern California announces partnership with Dave Creek’s Traveling Treehouses, a nonprofit organization established in memory of the late artist Dave Creek. The exhibit features the extraordinary collection of magical treehouses and will have its inaugural debut at Shriners Children’s now through the end of 2023.

The exhibit is housed near the rehabilitation and ambulatory surgery center, allowing young patients and their families to enjoy the whimsical artwork during and after their time at the medical center.

“We are thrilled to be the first children’s medical center to host the exhibit,” said Kanayo Keri, administrator. “Our patients and families will enjoy and explore the treehouses, the way artist Dave Creek intended. It has been an honor and privilege to work with Dave’s sister, Aleasha Ramsey, who worked tirelessly to honor his memory.”

Over the course of 17 years, Dave dedicated himself to crafting the intricate and magical treehouses. Dave Creek’s Traveling Treehouses mission is promoting art, imagination and expression through interactive on-site exhibits. The hospital's dedication to improving the lives of children aligns perfectly with the mission, making it an ideal location to host this unique exhibit.

In addition to Dave Creek designing his incredible bonsai treehouse creations, he was known as the lead character designer for the Emmy Award-winning animated series, Bob's Burgers.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Shriners Children's to bring Dave Creek's magical treehouse collection to life," said Aleasha Ramsay, spokesperson for Dave Creek’s Traveling Treehouses. "We believe that art has the power to heal and provide solace, and we hope that through this exhibit, we can bring a touch of wonder and joy to the brave children facing challenging times."

The exhibit at Shriners Children’s features the entire collection of Dave Creek's enchanting treehouses, each meticulously created to transport children into a world of imagination and adventure. Visitors have the opportunity to explore the intricate details of the artwork, discovering hidden treasures and whimsical characters within each treehouse.
