The Shriners Children's Mexico Research Department is responsible for developing clinical research activities through projects conducted by the research staff of Shriners Children's Mexico, both locally and throughout the Shriners Children's healthcare system.
The research department staff also guide, direct, advise, strengthen and follow up on research protocols that are developed under the mentorship of principal investigators and attending physicians at Shriners Children's Mexico.

What is the evaluation process for research protocols?
- To evaluate a research protocol by the Research Committee (IC) and the Ethics Research Committee (CEI), the following files are required to be sent to the members via email (see contact list):
- Letter requesting protocol evaluation signed by the main investigator(s) and addressed to the Research Committee and the Research Ethics Committee (free format).
- Research protocol in Word format with the complete sections. (see research protocol evaluation guidelines).
- In each case, include the consent / assent forms or the letter requesting waiver of consent duly signed and justified according to the type of research design and its level of risk.
- You will be assigned an ordinary session date according to the committee activities calendar to attend the presentation of your protocol.
- The members will issue their opinion on the research protocol and the resolution will be sent via email.
