Krystle R. Tuaño, M.D., specializes in hand and upper extremity surgery, reconstructive plastic surgery, microsurgery and complex limb-salvage care.
Dr. Tuaño received her medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine. She completed her general surgery residency at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, followed by an independent residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH).
Dr. Tuano’s dual training in general and plastic surgery gives her a broad foundation for treating injuries and conditions that require reconstructive expertise. Dr. Tuaño advances this collaborative, research-driven model of care as a member of the Hand and Arm Research Collaboration (HARC) and the Interdisciplinary Care for Amputees Network (ICAN).
A lifelong rock climber, Dr. Tuaño is deeply committed to treating sport-specific injuries and works with World Climbing to advance athlete health internationally. She is also committed to serving underserved populations through humanitarian and mission-based care, working with SHARE (Surgeons in Humanitarian Alliance for Reconstructive Research and Education), an initiative of The Plastic Surgery Foundation.
Dr. Tuaño is dedicated to delivering individualized, comprehensive care to her patients at Shriners Children's Boston.
