Stephen A. Mendelson, M.D., is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and attended the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Dr. Mendelson completed a residency in general orthopedic surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, followed by a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic and spinal deformity at Children's Hospital of Washington with the University of Washington Medical School. Dr. Mendelson has been full-time faculty at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine as well as UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh since 1997. Dr. Mendelson serves as director of pediatric orthopedic trauma. He has been named one of Pittsburgh's Top Doctors by Best Doctors, Inc. in Pittsburgh Magazine for five consecutive years. Dr. Mendelson's specialties include a wide variety of pediatric orthopedic conditions including spine deformity, neuromuscular orthopedics, pediatric orthopedic trauma and hip diseases.
