Marta Rosenberg, Ph.D., was born and raised in Barre, Vermont, before moving to South Texas. Her parents instilled the importance of helping others, and she traveled with them worldwide, gaining appreciation for diverse cultures, foods and customs. She grew up speaking English and Spanish, and is fluent in Spanish.
Dr. Rosenberg received her BA in psychology and speech therapy and her MA in general psychology from Texas A&M University–Kingsville. She earned her doctorate in counseling psychology and an MS in communicative disorders from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She completed her psychology internship at the University of Texas Medical Branch-Galveston and her postdoctoral fellowship at an outpatient brain injury rehabilitation treatment center.
Dr. Rosenberg has experience working with various age groups. She was a lead clinical psychologist at Project Re-entry, conducting neuropsychological evaluations and psychotherapy to adults. She performed neuropsychological evaluations in Spanish at the Texas Institute of Rehabilitation and Research. Since transitioning to Shriners Children’s Texas in 2001, she has specialized in pediatric burn care, focusing on psychosocial and emotional recovery, pain and anxiety reduction, grief and trauma treatment, crisis intervention, reintegration and culturally responsive care.
Dr. Rosenberg is active in training students and is a clinical assistant professor at UTMB. She has contributed to research, presented nationally and internationally, published extensively, and serves as a peer reviewer. She is a member of APA, ABA and ASHA, and graduated Summa Cum Laude. In her free time, she enjoys theater, museums, traveling and meeting people from diverse cultures.
