Mohan Gundeti, M.D., is an acclaimed innovator and international leader in the field of pediatric urology. In addition to his work with our spina bifida and spinal cord injury and rehabilitation teams, he is director of pediatric urology at Comer Children's Hospital. Dr. Gundeti is also a professor of urology, pediatrics and obstetrics/gynecology (MFM) at the University of Chicago. He is editor and author of the book, Robotic Reconstructive Urology, and a consulting editor of the British Journal of Urology, International.

His expertise includes robotic and minimally invasive surgery for kidney, ureter and bladder reconstruction, and reconstruction of complex congenital urological anomalies - including neurogenic bladder in spina bifida patients.

Dr. Gundeti was the first to perform pediatric robotic-assisted surgery for children with urological conditions in the Chicago area. His dedication to education and compassionate care is a unique centerpiece of his work. He has received national and international awards for his research and publications including the Hans Marberger Award from European Urology for his pioneering work in robotic pediatric urology. He has been named one of Chicago Magazine's Top Doctors in pediatric urology for several years, and one of America's Best Doctors. Dr. Gundeti is course director of the Pediatric Robotic Urological Surgery Hands-on Training course held annually at U of C, and is an invited guest speaker and symposium lecturer to practicing surgeons and residents around the world.
