Caring for young elite athletes allows Mark Burman, MDCM, FRCS(C), to combine his passion for orthopedic surgery and sports.

He completed his orthopedic training at McGill University and went on to subsequent sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery training at the University of Oklahoma, University of Toronto and McGill University. He was able to return to Montreal and establish a practice that cares for elite and recreational athletes; and gives them the best chance to return to their sport and continue to chase their dreams.

Over the years he has been involved with professional, Olympic, university, CEGEP and high school athletes, and currently serves as team surgeon for C.F. Montreal in the MLS, and Montreal Alouettes in the CFL.

Dr. Burman says sports plays a pivotal role in children's lives, and his work at Shriners Children's allows him to share this expertise with our developing athletes, both elite and recreational, to keep them active.
