Lyndsey Mata, MSN, APRN, CPNP-AC, has been dedicated to pediatric burn critical care since the beginning of her career in 2010. She earned her associate degree in nursing from Galveston College, which laid the foundation for a career rooted in compassionate, high-acuity pediatric care. Immediately after graduating, she joined the pediatric burn intensive care unit at Shriners Children’s Texas, where she quickly developed a deep appreciation for the resilience of children and the strength of their families. Driven by a desire to grow both clinically and professionally, she earned her bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Throughout her time at Shriners Children's, she advanced in her roles, gaining valuable leadership experience as a bedside nurse, charge nurse and house supervisor. Each position strengthened her clinical judgment, teamwork, and commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care in fast-paced critical care environments. In 2024, she completed her Master of Science in nursing and became a pediatric acute care nurse practitioner. Transitioning into this role has allowed her to further impact patient outcomes through advanced clinical decision-making, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and advocacy for children and their families. Lyndsey is deeply passionate about pediatric burn critical care and mentoring others in the nursing profession. Her career at Shriners Children’s Texas has been both meaningful and fulfilling, and she remains committed to providing exceptional care to pediatric patients while supporting families through some of their most challenging moments.
