Caroline H. Hu, M.D., is a dual fellowship-trained adult and pediatric hand and upper extremity orthopedic surgeon. She is originally from Los Angeles, California. After earning her undergraduate degree in biology at Amherst College, she completed medical school and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Minnesota. She then completed the Harvard Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship at Brigham and Women's/Boston Children's Hospital, followed by an additional Pediatric Hand Surgery Fellowship at Gillette Children's in St. Paul.
She cares for pediatric patients with a broad range of upper extremity conditions. Areas of special interest include brachial plexus birth injuries, thumb differences, congenital upper limb differences, and operative and nonoperative management of the elbow, forearm, wrist, and hand using open and arthroscopic techniques.
Areas of research that Dr. Hu is interested in include brachial plexus birth injuries and congenital upper extremity differences including radial polydactyly, symbrachydactyly and radial longitudinal deficiency.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing pickleball, exploring the Twin Cities restaurant scene and cheering on Minnesota sports teams.
