Gennadiy Fuzaylov, M.D., is a pediatric anesthesiologist and associate professor of anesthesia at Harvard Medical School. He has been practicing at Massachusetts General Hospital and Shriners Children’s Boston since 2002.
Dr. Fuzaylov earned his medical degree with summa cum laude honors from Samarkand State Medical University in Uzbekistan. He completed residencies in pediatrics and anesthesiology, fellowships in pediatric critical care and pediatric anesthesia, and served as chief resident at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.
Driven by his own background as a refugee from Uzbekistan, Dr. Fuzaylov has participated in over 80 global medical missions, providing surgical and reconstructive care to children in need of cleft lip and palate and burn care. As founder and president of the nonprofit organization Doctors Collaborating to Help Children, he has led outreach programs, particularly in Ukraine, where teams deliver advanced burn care, training and telemedicine support.
Dr. Fuzaylov’s humanitarian efforts have earned him prestigious honors, including Ukraine's Presidential Silver Medal, Order of Merit (Second and Third Degrees), Order of St. Panteleimon, and the Guisi International Humanitarian Award.
A prolific scholar, Dr. Fuzaylov has authored over 35 peer-reviewed manuscripts and is a frequently invited speaker at national and international conferences on pediatric anesthesia, burn care and global health.
