Ellen O’Donnell, Ph.D., is the director of clinical psychology services at Shriners Children’s Boston and a pediatric psychologist at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). She graduated magna cum laude from Boston College, earning her BA in psychology. She holds an MA and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Clark University, where she was awarded the Monte Bliss Fellowship and was a Rosenblum Fellow in Public Policy at the Massachusetts Psychological Association.
Dr. O’Donnell completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship in child clinical psychology at MGH and Harvard Medical School. She is an assistant professor of psychiatry. Dr. O’Donnell joined the psychiatry team at Shriners Children’s Boston in 2016 as part of a collaboration between Shriners Children’s Boston and the MGH child psychiatry consult service.
Dr. O’Donnell’s areas of interest include the psychological care of children with severe medical injuries and chronic medical illness including diabetes, anxiety disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, learning disabilities and trauma. She also specializes in neuropsychological assessment of children and adolescents.
