Erika Alejandrina Barron-Torres, M.D., studied medicine at the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo in Morelia, Mexico. Later, she completed her residency in orthopedics and traumatology at the Hospital General Regional Lic Ignacio Garcia Tellez IMSS, in Mérida, Mexico; She did a subspecialty in pediatric orthopedics at Shriners Children's Mexico, in which she served as chief of residents. She has been working at Shriners Children's since 2016 as an orthopedic surgeon.
