Amy Kauffman Wins Spokane's 2026 DAISY Award

Shriners Children's Spokane's nurses are nominated for 2026's DAISY Award.
Every year, Shriners Children's is proud to recognize the extraordinary compassion, skill and dedication of the healthcare team through a prestigious award: The DAISY Award for exceptional nurses. This honor celebrates nurses who go above and beyond delivering exceptional care and support to our patients and their families every day. By shining a light on their commitment, it affirms the healthcare system's deep gratitude for the care team and inspires a culture of excellence throughout Shriners Children's.
In early May of 2026, Amy Kaufman, a registered nurse in the outpatient clinic, was recognized as the Shriners Children’s Spokane 2026 DAISY Award® winner for nursing excellence.
Amy is one of Shriners Children’s Spokane’s amazing nurses, working closely with patients and families for over 14 years. In her role as a clinic nurse, Amy helps patients and families navigate their care in the outpatient clinic.
“Every day, Amy walks into the clinic and brings something that can't be taught in nursing school – a genuine and unshakeable warmth. Patients don't just feel cared for, they feel seen. They know they matter. Because to Amy, they do,” said one of Amy’s nominations.
The DAISY Award was established to celebrate the extraordinary compassion nurses provide their patients and families every day. Nurses can be nominated for the DAISY Award by coworkers, patients and families.
Thank you to all of our amazing nurses nominated this year. You make a difference every day.
