Welcoming Shriners Children's to Las Vegas

Shriners Children’s is expanding into a new market with the opening of an access point in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This represents an important step in extending our mission to change and improve children’s lives. As the Las Vegas community grows, so does the need for specialized pediatric care. Establishing a presence in this region allows us to reach more families who can benefit from the expertise and compassion that define Shriners Children’s.

Located on Badura Avenue, the independent access point will operate through an affiliation with Intermountain Health. Together, the organizations share a commitment to the highest quality pediatric care and a strong alignment in values. Shriners Children’s will be a tenant in Intermountain’s space as Intermountain develops its long-term plans for the Las Vegas market, including a future freestanding hospital anticipated in 2030.

“This represents an important step forward in bringing our specialized pediatric care to a growing community,” said Leslie D. Stewart, M.D., Shriners Children's Chairman of the Board of Trustees. “We are proud to expand our presence in collaboration with Intermountain Health and to serve more children and families in the Las Vegas market.

We anticipate a grand opening and ribbon cutting in July, with the first patients welcomed in August. 

Ryan VanderWerff, vice president of the Shriners Children's Medical Group, is leading development of the Las Vegas medical staff. A local board-certified pediatric orthopedic surgeon is already serving patients in the market and will assume a leadership role. A practice manager, additional physicians and full support staff will be hired as the team is built.

This effort reflects our commitment to thoughtful, strategic growth. It strengthens our presence in the West Region and positions Shriners Children’s to serve more families today while building toward long-term sustainability in this community.
