Scott H. Kozin Named New Chief Medical Officer After 30 Years of Patient Care

Scott H. Kozin, M.D., speaks on stage.
After decades of caring for patients and families, Scott H. Kozin, M.D., has received a promotion to chief medical officer and will now lead the physicians and advanced practice practitioners across the Shriners Children’s healthcare system. As part of this new leadership role, Dr. Kozin will be transitioning away from direct patient care in the first half of 2026.
While we will miss Dr. Kozin being in our hospital, he will bring his years of leadership to all the Shriners Children’s facilities throughout North America. Our team of upper-extremity physicians looks forward to continuing to care for your child. Dr. Kozin’s partners, whom he has trained and worked with for many years, Dan A. Zlotolow, M.D., Eugene Park, M.D., along with the physician assistants and rehabilitation team, are available to provide the same quality care you have come to expect from Dr. Kozin.
When asked about his tenure at Shriners Children’s Philadelphia, Dr. Kozin quickly responded that the last 30 years have been a “labor of love.” He has loved what he has done, he has loved caring for kids, he has loved being a hand surgeon, and he has loved being able to provide care in an environment where we just do what is right for the child.
We thank him on behalf of the patients, families and staff for his years of service to Shriners Children’s Philadelphia. We look forward to his next endeavor, leading the Shriners Children's Medical Group to improve the care provided to kids across North America (United States, Mexico and Canada) and our expanding international program.
