Awards Honor Shriners Children’s Commitment to Excellence

Shriners Children’s has once again been recognized as one of healthcare’s standout organizations for our high standards in patient experience, employee experience, safety and quality. Press Ganey honored Shriners Children’s with nine awards for 2025, celebrating data-driven advancements in care at six locations.

These awards reflect how patients and families feel they are cared for – and that experience is shaped every day by the dedication, compassion and teamwork of our staff across the system.

“This recognition, and the feedback we receive from our families, truly matters,” said Chief Medical Officer Fran Farley, M.D. “It reflects how our teams consistently go above and beyond – from the moment families walk through our front doors through every interaction in their care journey – delivering thoughtful touches that shape the patient experience and inspire families to recommend our care. High patient satisfaction is a key measure of our success in delivering the best care to as many children as possible.”

Working with more than 41,000 healthcare facilities nationwide, Press Ganey conducts surveys of patients, physicians and healthcare staff to assess experience, satisfaction and engagement, while also evaluating clinical quality performance. These measures serve as the foundation for the Pinnacle of Excellence and Guardian of Excellence awards – honors achieved only by organizations performing at the highest levels.

Four Shriners Children’s locations received a Pinnacle of Excellence Award®, recognizing sustained excellence over multiple consecutive years. Four additional locations earned a Guardian of Excellence Award®, placing them among the top 5% of providers nationwide for patient experience or engagement. One location also received the NDNQI® Award for Outstanding Nursing Quality in pediatric care.

“Since 2002, we’ve partnered with Press Ganey to gain a deeper understanding of the patient and family experience,” said Kathleen Nightlinger, director of healthcare quality and safety at Shriners Children’s. “These survey results amplify the voices of our patients and families, while providing our teams with insights to make meaningful, data-driven improvements."
