Shriners Children’s Northern California Patient Ambassadors Take the Field
Shriners Children's Northern California patients and players gather on the soccer pitch before the game.
Shriners Children's is a sponsor of Concacaf Gold Cup soccer. On Father's Day, June 15, several Shriners Children’s Northern California Patient Ambassadors participated in the opening ceremony of the competition between Team USA and Trinidad and Tobago.
Patients, siblings and other Shriners Children's representatives walked out onto the soccer field for the national anthems of both teams and the official game kick-off. The patients in the group represented many of our pediatric specialty services lines – orthopedics, spine care and burn care.
The children enjoyed a special lunch after the initial rehearsal and were able to stay after the opening ceremony to enjoy the game and festivities.
