School Nurse Resources

School nurses are the leaders that bridge healthcare and education, keeping children healthy, safe and ready to learn. Our partnership with the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) is a natural extension of our mission and 100-year history of providing compassionate, innovative care. Together, we can help prevent injuries, and improve the health and safety of all children through the sharing of knowledge and resources.

We make access to specialty pediatric care easy with our 20+ locations, telehealth options and outreach/satellite clinics. As strong advocates for your students’ healthcare needs, when you refer them and their families to Shriners Children’s for care, you provide a resource that makes a difference in children's lives.

Educational Materials

Our injury prevention information and materials provide valuable tools for you to share with students, parents and caregivers.
Burn Awareness
Every day, children are taken to emergency rooms with burn or scald injuries that occur in the home, that could have been prevented. Through the sharing of burn awareness materials and education, we can help families and children avoid the potential for burn injuries.

Summer Safety
For many children, summer means school is out, and time to enjoy the outdoors with friends and family. Unfortunately, in addition to being a lot of fun for kids, many summertime activities can lead to a higher risk of injuries.

Backpack Safety
Backpacks are designed to carry all the books and supplies needed for a child's school day. However, backpacks that are too heavy or carried incorrectly can cause pain and injuries over time.
