Recognition and Awards

Celebrating Excellence in Healthcare

At Shriners Children's, we are proud to recognize the extraordinary compassion, skill and dedication of our healthcare team through two prestigious awards: the BEE Award for outstanding staff and the DAISY Award for exceptional nurses. These honors celebrate those who go above and beyond in delivering exceptional care and support to our patients and their families every day. By shining a light on their commitment, we affirm our deep gratitude and inspire a culture of excellence throughout our organization.

The BEE Award recognizes Shriners Children’s team members who have made an exceptional difference in overall experience, highlighting their contributions to patient care and the positive impact they have on the medical center. All employees are eligible to be honored for their incredible work.

The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses is an international award to recognize the extraordinary, compassionate care that nurses provide our patients and families every day. Only nurses are eligible to be honored for this award.

Who Can Make a Nomination?

For the BEE Award, any patient, visitor, or employee at Shriners Children’s may nominate a deserving member of our team.

For the DAISY Award, any patient, visitor, or employee at Shriners Children’s may nominate an amazing nurse.

Awards

DAISY Award

The DAISY Award is an international recognition program started in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. Pat’s family experienced first-hand the difference his nurses made in his care through clinical excellence and outstanding compassionate care. The family created the DAISY Award to express gratitude to nurses and to enable other patients, families, and staff to thank and honor their special nurses.

Please visit DAISYFoundation.org to learn more about Pat's story and how the DAISY Award recognizes extraordinary nurses.
