Catherine Tallant, PSYD, MA, BA

Catherine Tallant, Psy.D., is a certified health psychologist with a specialty in clinical psychopharmacology and is an active participant in PsyPact, providing telehealth services across state lines. Her specialty areas include burn and orthopedic pediatric care, group therapy, crisis intervention and prevention, grief and trauma treatment, psychodiagnostic assessment and culturally responsive care.

Dr. Tallant earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology, with double minors in political science and philosophy, from Saint Leo University. She went on to complete both her master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology through the APA-approved program at the Florida School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University. She has also completed a master’s degree in clinical psychopharmacology.

Throughout her doctoral training, Dr. Tallant completed externships at autism treatment centers, school systems, private practices, juvenile justice facilities and university counseling centers. After completing residency and fellowship, she served as a clinical health psychologist for Florida Gulf Coast University Counseling and Psychological Services before transitioning into higher education as a faculty member at Florida Southwestern State College.

As a former Shriners Children’s patient herself, Dt. Tallant finds meaning in supporting children during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. She aims to create a space where children feel understood, safe and genuinely cared for. Dr. Tallant has received multiple honors for her academic excellence and leadership, including recognition in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. She currently serves on the Society for Health Psychology’s editorial advisory committee and has presented scholarly work at professional conferences.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Tallant treasures time with her spouse of 15 years, their three children, and two dogs.
