Terrence Ishmael, M.D., is a board-certified pediatric orthopedic and spine surgeon at Shriners Children’s Philadelphia. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. After residency, he completed his first fellowship in pediatric orthopedics and scoliosis at Scottish Rite for Children in Dallas, Texas. He then completed a second fellowship in adult and pediatric spine surgery at the University of Pennsylvania/Shriners Hospitals for Children — Philadelphia.

Dr. Ishmael has interests in complex spinal conditions, clubfoot, general pediatric orthopedics, fracture care and neuromuscular conditions. He is committed to the mission of Shriners Children’s, both locally and abroad, through surgical mission trips to the Caribbean. The ability to provide cutting-edge care to children in need, regardless of their ability to pay, is one of his primary reasons for joining the Shriners Children’s team.

In his free time, Dr. Ishmael enjoys spending time with his wife, Suneetha, and son, Kai.
