The Impact of Partnership

2025 marks the 10th year of partnership between First Alert 4 (KMOV) and Shriners Children's St. Louis for the annual Shriners Children's St. Louis Day of Giving. The hospital is proud to continue the on-air and online telethon that raises several hundred thousand dollars every year - for the care of patients with orthopedic needs.

Speaker 1:

It has been a fantastic day. So many people in the St. Louis community stepping up to the plate to donate to Shriners Children's St. Louis on this Day of Giving.

Speaker 2:

Such an easy partnership with KMOV First Alert 4.

Speaker 3:

You can help. You heard what he said. Shriners Children's St. Louis Day of Giving.

Speaker 2:

We spend good part of the year preparing for this one day. They're calling it now the Day of Giving.

Speaker 4:

It's a process that we will probably actually start tomorrow. It just takes a lot to think about what our goal is, how we're going to push that out to our potential donors and that story that we want to share with people.

Speaker 5:

I remember answering the phone and I asked, and it was going to be a one-time donation, and it was for $2,500, and I was like, "Wait, are you sure it's not 250?" And no, they were for real, and that's only because of what we see with our children and patients here at the telethon.

Speaker 3:

You have a big check to present. What is this?

Speaker 6:

This is a check for $16,000.

Speaker 2:

This year, we're trying to raise $235,000. That's a lot of money. It can serve a lot of kids.

Speaker 7:

It's needed. The kids have to have it and for this hospital to keep going and the doctors. All these people have big hearts and we do it.

Speaker 2:

It doesn't matter if your family can pay, it doesn't matter if you have insurance here.

Speaker 4:

People just love the constant ringing, and there's some woo-hoos that happen every once in a while when you get a big gift.

Speaker 8:

It raises a lot more awareness than we could get just by parading or doing the different things that we do.

Speaker 1:

We talk about the care, we talk about the treatment, but that confidence, that holistic approach that they have here, that-

Speaker 2:

We're on TV all day sharing the mission of Shriners Children's St. Louis. We're doing that through showing off our experts and what they know about the field of pediatric orthopedics. We're also sharing really inspiring stories from our patients and our families.

Speaker 8:

To see this on TV all day long, raising awareness, for us, we are proud to see it and enjoy the time.

Speaker 5:

So, Shriners has just been a home, it's been staff, it's basically my place.

Speaker 2:

We know that we have partners in this who really care about the Shriners Children's St. Louis mission.

Speaker 4:

They're here all day and they're just sharing this time with us. And I do believe that KMOV First Alert is just as invested in Shriners Children's as Shriners Children's is invested.

Speaker 1:

Again, it's the inspiring stories like Connor where-

Speaker 2:

But when we meet with the sales team and the on-air team and the photographers, it's obvious to us that they care just as much about the mission as we do.

Speaker 4:

I think that's obvious for this very long-term partnership that we've had.

Speaker 8:

It's just something that ties us all together and it's something to be very proud of.

Speaker 9:
