A Lifetime of Active Possibilities

Aidan’s treatment continued until he was 18, with regular follow-up visits. His care team took a conservative approach, ensuring Aidan’s gait was as normal as possible with minimal surgeries. While they initially cautioned that Aidan might not excel in sports, he proved them wrong.

When he was 10 years old, Aidan began practicing Tang Soo Do, a Korean martial art, and earned the equivalent of a black belt after 10 years of dedication. Though he eventually stepped away to focus on his social life, his passion for physical activity never waned.

As a teen, Aidan discovered a love for running, starting with short distances alongside his dad. Over time, he progressed to longer races, including a half-marathon. He regularly participates in local races such as the Police Athletic League 5k and runs 8 to 10 miles several times a week with friends.

Now a college student at California State University, Sacramento, Aidan is majoring in electrical engineering. His interest in robotics, which began in middle school, has blossomed into a promising academic and career path.

A Message of Gratitude

Today, Aidan is not only excelling in his studies, but also inspiring others with his determination and resilience. His journey from a child with clubfoot to a college student and avid runner is a powerful reminder of what’s possible with the right care and support. “Thank you – without you, none of what I’ve accomplished would have been possible,” he said.

“We encourage everyone to support Shriners Children’s,” Bryan said. “We found out firsthand what a profound difference they make. The care we received was nothing short of amazing, and we want other families to have the same opportunity.”
