Teresa Cappello, M.D., Joins Shriners Hospitals
Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery
Teresa Cappello, M.D., brings more than 20 years of experience in the Chicagoland area as a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon. Dr. Cappello specializes in pediatric orthopaedic conditions such as club feet, flatfeet, intoeing, out toeing, knock knees (genu valgum), leg length discrepancy, hip dysplasia, and stable fractures in children of the arm and leg. She joins Shriners Hospitals after practicing at the nearby Loyola University Medical Center.
Dr. Cappello explained her particular interest in working with children with orthopaedic conditions. “The legs and feet in children change quite a bit during the first 10 years of life. Sometimes it’s challenging for parents – or even pediatricians – to know what’s right and what’s not right and might cause a problem. It’s rewarding to see parents relax when I tell them their child is normal or their child will outgrow what they’re concerned about," she said.
