Dr. Matt Bernstein Joins Shriners Children's St. Louis Team

Hi, my name is Robert Bernstein. I'm the new interim chief of staff for Shriners Children's St. Louis. I got interested in pediatric orthopedics because my father was a pediatric orthopedic surgeon, and he was an amazing human being and an absolutely wonderful surgeon and my entire life, all I wanted to do was to emulate my father and so this was my opportunity to do what my father had done. So I started out working for Shriners Children's in 1994. That was my first job, and that was at the Los Angeles hospital. I realized that it was the most amazing mission. Uh, and it was the opportunity to tr to perform true altruistic medicine. And so I looked for opportunities to come back to the Shriners system. Eventually coming back to be the chief of staff in 2018 in Portland, Oregon and then subsequently became the associate chief medical officer for the system and now will be the interim uh chief of staff in St. Louis. So, Shriners Children's of St. Louis has been a spectacular hospital. It's one of the jewels and the crown of the Shriners system. And that is not just the physicians, but all of the staff. And it is a real honor for me to be able to join such an illustrious staff and to help and support them as they transition into this new program.
