Sharif Mohamed, M.D., Ph.D., is an associate professor of pediatric anesthesiology and the division chief of anesthesiology at Shriners Children's Texas. He received his medical degree from Cairo University in Egypt and completed residency at Cairo University Hospitals and the Cleveland Clinic. He completed a fellowship in pediatric anesthesia at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
Dr. Mohamed’s interests include anesthesia education, medical humanities, medical ethics, transesophageal echocardiography and burn anesthesia. Dr. Mohamed is the editor of Anesthesia Bridges, Anesthesia OSCE Board Review and many other books. Dr. Mohamed serves on multiple ASA and TSA Committees, most recently the Committee on Ethics and the Committee on Professional Development. He is also a reviewer for multiple journals.
Personally, Dr. Mohamed is a father of four, a Boy Scout leader, and a youth mentor.
