Laura Abbott, MSN, CPNP-PC, is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner with extensive experience in pediatric critical care, burns, transport and surgical recovery. Laura earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Simmons College and went on to earn a Master of Science in nursing from Northeastern University in acute and primary care. She began her tenure at Shriners Children's Boston as an ICU travel nurse in 2017. Laura has also worked at Boston Children's Hospital and Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia. At Shriners Children's Boston, Laura delivers comprehensive care for children with a wide range of burn injuries. She works collaboratively with her ICU colleagues and surgical specialists to manage complex wounds and the surgical recovery process for pediatric burn patients.
In her roles at Shriners Children's Boston, Laura has served as preceptor for new nurses, intensive care unit trainees and students. Now as a provider, Laura is dedicated to delivering evidence-based, high-quality, family-centered care in a pediatric critical care environment.
