Joseph M. Carter, PA-C, MPAS, earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Mercyhurst University in 2022, prior to earning master’s degrees in organizational leadership and physician assistant studies, also from Mercyhurst University.

Joe brings a wide range of clinical experience to Shriners Children’s Erie, having completed various clinical rotations including orthopedics, family medicine and pediatrics. He was quarterback of the Mercyhurst Lakers Football Team where he was a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. Joe maintains a passion for athletics. He loves working with kids and helping them get back to their sport or activity as quickly as possible. He enjoys helping them overcome challenges to remain healthy and active. When Joe is not working, you can find him playing sports, coaching varsity football or watching his favorite Cleveland teams compete.
