ShrineABILITY Camp Helps Build Kids' Confidence

Speaker 1:
The goal of ShrineABILITY Camp is to bring like families together who are experiencing same sort of situations, so parents and families of kids with limb differences, and to learn from one another and build their confidence in everyday life.
Speaker 2:
Inclusion, letting the kids meet other people like them, develop skills and bonds with people that they share something in common with.
Speaker 3:
One thing I really like about ShrineABILITY Camp is that I can see my friends and do fun activities with them.
Speaker 4:
Fly around and through a tree.
Speaker 5:
This is my first year. I caught five turtles.
Speaker 6:
Well, my role here is a fish baiter. I enjoy being with the kids and teaching them.
Speaker 7:
I don't get to see a lot of kids with disabilities all the time, so to me being here, it's like, I guess I'm around people that are like me.
Speaker 8:
At first they're shy, but then a day in they feel safe and comfortable and just having so much fun and I love watching it.
Speaker 9:
And she's been taking on all the challenges, like climbing the rock wall, riding horses. So getting to see her come out of her shell and really open up has been an awesome experience.

Those are the moments that we do this for, to watch the campers grow in their confidence of how they live their life with a limb difference.
