Neil Reitman Pediatric Burn Institute Receives State Designation

The California Children’s Services (CCS) program – operated by the Integrated Systems of Care Division of the Department of Health Care Services in California – approved the Neil Reitman Pediatric Burn Institute as a full CCS-approved Burn Special Care Center. This recognition distinguishes Shriners Children’s Northern California’s burn center as a destination for outstanding pediatric burn care. Shriners Children’s Northern California is the only pediatric hospital in Northern California to have this designation.

“The Burn Special Care Center designation is another example of, and recognition of, our hospital’s relentless work to provide extraordinary burn care to children throughout California and beyond,” said Market Administrator Kenny Pawlek. “This designation further elevates the understanding of the level of expertise that our doctors, nurses, therapists and other staff bring to the care of children who’ve experienced life-changing burns.”

Children admitted for burn injuries of all severities and types to the Neil Reitman Pediatric Burn Institute receive pioneering care from an internationally-recognized team of specialists. The burn program is also accredited by the American Burn Association and the American College of Surgeons as a verified pediatric burn center, and is the region’s most active and noted location for children’s burn care.
