Visiting Us

Visit Shriners Children's Southern California

At Shriners Children's Southern California the health and safety of our patients, families, volunteers and staff is our top priority. With the evolving situation regarding COVID-19, we are closely monitoring updates and alerts from the local health departments and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We are actively following their recommendations to ensure our facilities remain safe places for you, your child and others to receive care at our facility.

We ask that all guests, visitors and family members join us in creating a positive environment where hope and healing meet. Here are our visitor guidelines and policies. Please call the medical center main number if you have any questions: 626-389-9300.

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Your Safety Remains a Top Priority

Shriners Children's Southern California is open and caring for patients with strict safety measures. We are offering surgical care for pediatric patients as well as clinic and rehabilitation appointments in person and virtually through telehealth. We are accepting referrals for new patients and consultations.

To protect the health of patients, families and employees, we have adopted new safety measures:

  • One parent or guardian may accompany the patient.
  • No siblings are permitted to accompany the patient. Do not bring other children to outpatient or rehabilitation appointments for your child.
  • Requiring face shields and goggles to be worn by staff members when providing direct patient care or when in close contact with a parent/guardian.
  • Screening all patients, guests and employees for possible cold and flu-like symptoms and potential exposure to the virus.
  • Requiring face masks to be worn in the facility. Individuals will be provided mask/covering if they don't have one.
  • Giving a COVID-19 test to the patient 48 hours prior to surgery.
  • Requiring that people who have been ill with fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose or difficulty breathing or who have been in contact with anyone with those symptoms use a telehealth visit instead or reschedule their appointment.
  • Practicing social distancing by requiring everyone to maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from others.
  • Sanitizing high-touch areas multiple times a day.

Surgical Admissions

  • Day of surgery: We understand that surgery is a stressful event for patients and families, and want to allow support the day of surgery. Therefore, one adult is permitted to stay with the patient.
