Volunteer

Volunteer opportunities are available in many departments. They include child life, our school, outpatient clinics and public relations.

Volunteer shifts run Monday through Friday and on weekends.

There are volunteer programs for students to complete volunteer hours at the hospital. We ask for a minimum of 30 hours per school semester.

There are also many other interesting opportunities for volunteering, including helping with special events or other roles within the hospital.

Volunteer requirements:

  • Must be over 18 years of age
  • Must be fluent in both French and English
  • Must satisfy requirements in the interview process (including a criminal background check)
  • Must satisfy requirements of the immunization policy of Staff Health Office
  • Must not be an active patient at Shriners Hospitals for Children Canada
