Fezzy Promotes Holiday Safety Reminders to Patients and Staff

In an effort to promote COVID-19 safety practices during the holidays, Fezzy Bear made his way around the hospital to hand out special Fezzy Bear facemasks and holiday safety tips to patients and staff members. The bright yellow masks fashion a bear’s snout and proved to be an engaging and fun way to get children excited about the importance of masking.

Shriners Hospitals for Children — Northern California is committed to keeping patients, families and staff members safe. Everyone, please remember to stay masked when not eating, maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet as much as possible, and continue to practice good hand hygiene as the holiday season approaches.

“The California Department of Public and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have issued stern warnings to Californians, encouraging everyone to take all necessary precautions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 during the holidays,” said Kanoe Allen, director of patient care services. “We need to continue to work together and follow the advice and guidance of health care experts to mitigate the effects of COVID-19.”

Anyone experiencing a headache, fever, cough, shortness of breath, muscle aches, loss of sense of smell or taste, a sore throat, or who has been exposed to COVID-19 should stay home and quarantine.
