Visiting Us

Visit Shriners Children's Greenville

When visitors arrive, we're as happy to see them as the children are. Visitors can bring a smile to a patient's face and help them pass the time. But they can do more than that. Feeling supported by family and friends can also help enhance the healing process.

We ask that all guests, visitors and family members join us in creating a positive environment where hope and healing meet.

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Your Safety Remains a Top Priority.

Shriners Children's Greenville is open and caring for patients with strict safety measures. We've resumed surgical care for pediatric patients, expanded clinic appointments and are accepting referrals for new patients and consultations.

To protect the health of patients, families and employees, we have adopted new safety measures:

  • Restricting access to the facility. Only one adult is allowed to accompany each patient during clinic visits.
  • Permitting surgical patients to have two parents/guardians visit at a time. Identification badges, provided at the registration desk, must be worn at all times.
  • Requiring face coverings to be worn at all times by staff members, patients and visitors.
  • Screening patients, guests and employees for possible cold and flu-like symptoms and potential exposure to the virus. Temperatures are taken when entering the facility.
  • Educating families on the rules we have in place to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 when appointments or procedures are scheduled.
  • Practicing social distancing by requiring everyone to maintain a distance of at least six feet from others when possible.

General Visiting Guidelines

To maintain a family-friendly, healing environment, we ask that all visitors respect the following guidelines:

  • Access the building only through the P1 underground parking deck.
  • Non-surgical patients may be accompanied by one parent or legal guardian. Surgical patients may be accompanied by two parents or legal guardians.
  • All patients and guardians must participate in a health screening and temperature check upon arrival.
  • Visitors who are disorderly or who do not observe our regulations will be escorted from the facility by a security guard and refused subsequent visiting privileges.
  • Parents/guardians are not to leave the inpatient area of the facility without first notifying a nurse.
  • Alcoholic beverages, weapons or illegal drugs are not permitted in any area of the facility. Any visitor who brings these items to the facility will be escorted out by a security guard and may be refused subsequent visiting privileges.
  • No items are allowed that contain latex, including latex balloons, rubber balls, and certain toys and games. Mylar (foil) balloons are allowed.
  • Shriners Children's Greenville is not responsible for money or other valuables, such as electronics and jewelry, brought in by patients or families.

Gifts

Patients love to receive gifts while staying with us. Please note:

  • Consider inexpensive and safe gifts that are appropriate for the child’s age.
  • Before bringing a gift of food, please consult with the child’s nurses.
  • We do not allow rubber balloons in the building. Rubber balloons cause a safety and allergy hazard to many of our patients. Only Mylar (foil) balloons are permitted.
