Hi, my name is Joe Carter. I'm a physician assistant or PAC here at Shriner's Children's Erie. I work with kiddos all come in all shapes, sizes, and with a lot of different complaints.

One of the main reasons I wanted to go into orthopedics is because of my athletic background just from playing sports, you know, my whole life growing up and then also getting the great opportunity to be able to play college football down the street at Mercier. So, you know, sports medicine was, is a passion of mine. I love seeing sports-related injuries. I love getting athletes back on the field. It's another huge reason why I took this job is to be able to do that and see athletes from all walks of life, whether we're high school athletes all the way down to our 6-year-old with a buckle fracture that needs to get back to playing soccer.

So, the best part of my job is getting to wake up every day knowing I'm making a difference. Um, and again, I know that is a touchy feely kind of cliche answer, but I genuinely it's not work. It's a great atmosphere. It's a great environment. I love working with the kids. I've always wanted to work in orthopedics. Like it it it's been a perfect fit. I can't say enough how much I'm enjoying my time here. So, there's really not one best part because I love every single day. I love coming here to work and I I hope it shows when I'm seeing patients in my passion, how much I enjoy being here.
