Daniel Arango, M.D., was born in Michigan, but was raised in McAllen, Texas, located in the Rio Grande Valley. Following high school, he graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2010 with a bachelor's in business administration. He then went on to complete medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in 2014. Following medical school, he began his post-graduate training as a general surgery resident before transitioning to anesthesia in 2017. Dr. Arango finished anesthesia residency at UTMB in 2020, then he moved to New Orleans and did a fellowship in solid organ transplantation. He stayed on as staff at Ochsner Medical Center for one year before returning to Galveston, Texas. He is currently a faculty member at UTMB and Shriner's Children's Texas in Galveston.
