Chinmay Paranjape, M.D., was born and raised in Massachusetts, and progressively moved south along the East Coast for his education, with a stop in Philadelphia where he studied chemical engineering before spending a decade in North Carolina for his medical education and residency. There, he met his wife, Emily, and together they migrated west for his specialty training in pediatric orthopedic and scoliosis surgery. They fell in love with the natural beauty and atmosphere of the West Coast, deciding to make it home for themselves, their dog, Lucky, and their son, Sunny.

For Dr. Paranjape, orthopedic surgery was a natural fit. Growing up woodworking, having studied engineering, and having been an orthopedic patient himself several times in his life, the field of orthopedic surgery represented the perfect blend of his interests, skills, and an opportunity to help others in a way that was personally meaningful. During his training, Dr. Paranjape was drawn to pediatrics. Specifically, children's resilience and the challenge of providing care to a growing child serves as a constant motivation and inspiration to him. During his fellowship, he was drawn to the challenge of caring for the growing spine, and has an interest in spinal care in children of all ages and maturity levels.
