Arija Iverson, M.D., is a board-certified pediatrician. Originally from New England, she completed her undergraduate education at Yale University, her medical degree at the University of Connecticut, and her residency in pediatrics at University of California Los Angeles. Dr. Iverson came to Shriners Children's after working for seven years as a pediatric hospitalist at a busy tertiary care center, where she gained extensive experience caring for hospitalized children of all ages with a wide variety of illnesses. She became board certified in pediatric hospital medicine in 2022, and she is particularly interested in the care of children with complex medical needs.

Dr. Iverson joined the Shriners Children's Portland team of providers, nurses, therapists, dieticians and social workers to help build a world-class program dedicated to serving children with complex medical and surgical needs. She loves meeting children and their families, getting to know them, hearing their stories, and providing medical care in line with their goals for health, happiness and quality of life. When she's not at work, Dr. Iverson enjoys reading, writing, biking, music, exploring Portland's food scene and spending time with her two children.
