Big Day of Giving was a big day for the region, raising almost $11,700,000 for 615 charities from 64,201 donations. We are thankful to the Sacramento Region Community Foundation for hosting this regional fundraising event and for the ability to participate.
We are especially grateful to the individual men and women whose collective generosity made the 2020 Big Day of Giving our biggest yet – raising a total of $71,364 for our pediatric specialty programs.
Some fun facts about the day:
- We won the 2 a.m. challenge with the highest number of gifts and also the most donor dollars.
- We earned the challenge match gift of $10,000 contributed by an anonymous member of our hospital staff. A HUGE THANK YOU to our donor and to everyone whose gift before Big Day and in the morning made that possible.
- We were among the top 7% of money raised.
- We were among the top 5% for participation.
Making Big Days Every Day
Big Day of Giving is an important fundraising day, but our theme this year reflected our purpose as an organization: Making Big Days Every Day
In the link below, you will find a wonderful example of how gifts from individuals, like our generous Big Day donors transform a Thursday for one of out patients, into a Big Day in their life. The visit recorded in this video occurred on Big Day of Giving, which makes it even more relevant to the success of the day. Thank you to all of our donors for Making Big Days Every Day possible for our patients.
