Maria Gieron, M.D., has served on the faculty at University of South Florida since 1981. She is a professor of pediatrics, neurology and psychiatry/ behavioral medicine. She developed the child neurology teaching program for medical students, pediatric and neurology residents, and child psychiatry fellows. She actively teaches trainees in each of those disciplines. Dr. Gieron formed a link with community child neurologists, many of whom are voluntary faculty in the Department of Pediatrics, and who continue to contribute to the educational mission of the Morsani College of Medicine.

Dr. Gieron's clinical and research interests are in childhood epilepsy and electrophysiology (EEG and EEG – video monitoring), as well as neuromuscular disorders and headaches.
