David G. Greenhalgh, MD, FACS
Chief of Staff and President- General Surgery
- English
David Greenhalgh, M.D., FACS, chose to go into burn care because he is amazed by how a person can face such a great challenge and still recover. He is fascinated by the pathophysiology of the response to injury and wound healing. He also enjoys caring for the entire spectrum of burn care from critical care to burn reconstruction. He felt fortunate to be offered a job at Shriners Children's Cincinnati in 1989. When Shriners Children's decided to open the Northern California hospital, Dr. Greenhalgh was honored to be named chief of burns. It was a rare opportunity to build a program from start, and he is proud to have built one of the largest burn programs in the country.
