Shriners Children’s Philadelphia Hosts Fourth Tie and Scarf Design Contest!

We are looking for patient artwork to help us design our new hospital necktie and scarf. Current and former patients are welcome to submit their artwork on any blank 8.5 x 11 inch piece of paper. Artwork should represent your feelings about the hospital and our care. The winning design will be digitally transformed into a necktie and scarf.

If you have an upcoming appointment, submission forms can be found in the hospital lobby, fourth-floor clinic and sixth-floor rehabilitation department. You can return your artwork to the front desk in the lobby or to the Marketing and Communications department on the eighth floor. All artwork must be submitted by Friday, March 31.

If you are creating your design at home, please mail your artwork in a flat mailing envelope to the following address:

Shriners Children’s
Attn: Erin Winkler, Marketing & Communications
3551 N. Broad Street
Philadelphia, PA 19140

Be sure to include your name, age and contact information. Please do not fold your artwork.

There is no need to create your design in the shape of a tie. We will transform your artwork into the size and shape needed.

In 2011, to celebrate the hospital’s 85th anniversary, Christa created our first patient-designed tie. Our second patient-designed tie and scarf was created in 2016 for the hospital’s 90th anniversary by Anthony. Most recently, in 2018, Amanda created the design, which included our mascot Fezzy, along with doctors, nurses and patients. Who will be our 2023 designer? It could be you!

Our ties are popular items with supporters of our hospital, including Shriners, Board members and employees. The scarves are a perfect accessory for our ladies groups. Both ties and scarves are for anyone to purchase once the design is finalized
